Plant Walk / WildCrafting Hike
A guided nature walk to learn and identify wild plants and their medicinal uses.
Sunday, April 16th 6 pm
Wildcrafting is the craft of harvesting medicinal plants from the wild.
Did you know Harriett Tubman was a master wildcrafter? Not only was she a leader in the underground railroad, she used natural remedies to heal and strengthen southern slaves during their passage. Jireh Family Farm will offer an educational nature walk where attendees will discover and identify medicinal plants and event culinary herbs.
Rita is wildly in love with hiking, connecting to her Native American roots to deepen her relationship with the natural world, and utilizing wild plants for food and medicine. You can often find her climbing mountains and hiking long distances to challenge herself physically and mentally. She believes in making a positive impact in the world by volunteering with the Make a Wish Trailblaze Challenge and offering wellness hikes that fully engage the spirit, soul, and body. She invites others to join her on the journey of tasting the beauty of the wild and becoming a healthier person.
