Featuring: Nate Figaro
Jireh Family Farm is collaborating with a local pitmaster, Nate Figaro with 80/20 Creole. Mr. Figaro will conduct an on-farm BBQ Smoking Session featuring JFF chicken. You'll learn how to cook delicious, juicy chicken on the grill with flavors that'll make you the king (or queen) of the grill. The class will offer instruction on proper butchering techniques, seasoning/marinading, and a cooking demonstration. After the class, participants will partake in a farm-to-table meal featuring Creole-style BBQ chicken and sides.
Nate Figaro is a pit master and chef from Lafayette, Louisiana who specializes in Creole cuisine. Nate has worked in BBQ food trucks, restaurants, and supper clubs around Chattanooga. In 2022, Nate was selected as a grant recipient of Kingsford Preserve the Pit Program. This grant is given to African Americans who carry the teachings and reflect the history of Black pitmaster before them.
